MARIO CONSIGLIO - OSTILE ALLO STILE

Gianluca Mangano È irresistibile il desiderio di toccarle. Il signi cato si rivela e incontra sensibilmente il mio immaginario, appagando tutte le emozioni che cerco in un’opera d’arte, la bellezza della forma me ne fa perdutamente innamorare. Accanto ad una straordinaria vitalità intellettuale, acquisita in anni di ricerca, ria ora con vigore l’italianità insita nel dna di Consiglio, la dedizione per la progettazione ra nata e accattivante al contempo. In una sola opera egli concentra anni di storia dell’arte contemporanea: forza, eleganza, imponenza e misurata ironia convivono armoniosamente in un oggetto prezioso, che a mio modesto avviso, rasenta la perfezione artistica, funziona come pochi. La parola diventa immagine, ma ha un potere talvolta superiore. Ed Ruscha disse che: “L’arte deve essere qualcosa che ti fa grattare la testa”, il lavoro di Mario, è una sintesi perfetta tra forma e contenuto, estetica e signi cato. L’arte concettuale non ha risposte, ma ci invita a ri ettere. Attraverso intrigan- ti a ermazioni, o semplicemente singole parole, pescate dall’immaginario collettivo, l’artista ci ricorda la realtà, quella che non vediamo nell’automatismo del quotidiano. Intende scuoterci, svegliarci, con un sorriso, dal torpore che anestetizza i nostri sentimenti, ricordandoci che stiamo vivendo. Dove siamo rimasti? E dove arriveremo? Se il contributo di Banda, comporta una comunicazione più sottile e so sticata, che concede allo spettatore uno spazio ri essivo dedicato all’interpretazione; al contrario, gli slogan successivi, selezionati direttamente da Consiglio, instaurano un contatto di con denza immediato, le distan- ze si accorciano ulteriormente e il messaggio all’osservato- re arriva forte e chiaro: DATEVI FUOCO! The desire to touch them is irresistible. The meaning is revea- led and sensibly meets my imagination, satisfying all the emotions I seek in a work of art. The beauty of the form makes me hopelessly fall in love with it. Alongside extraordi- nary intellectual vitality acquired over years of research, the Italian essence inherent in Consiglio's DNA resurfaces vigorously, a dedication to re ned and captivating design at the same time. In a single work, he condenses years of contemporary art history: strength, elegance, grandeur, and measured irony coexist harmoniously in a precious object that, in my humble opinion, approaches artistic perfection, and functions like very few. The word becomes an image, but it sometimes has greater power. Ed Ruscha said that "art should be something that makes you scratch your head". Mario's work is a perfect synthesis of form and content, aesthetics and meaning. Conceptual art doesn't provide answers, but it invites us to re ect. Through intriguing statements or simply individual words drawn from the collective imagination, the artist reminds us of reality, the reality we don't see in the automatism of every- day life. He intends to shake us, awaken us, with a smile, from the numbness that anesthetizes our feelings, reminding us that we are alive. Where have we been left? And where will we go? If Banda's contribution entails a more subtle and sophisticated communication that grants the viewer a re ective space for interpretation, on the contrary, the subse- quent slogans selected directly by Consiglio establish imme- diate familiarity.
